STEVE PHILLIPPS

WILDLIFE CAMERAMAN, PHOTOGRAPHER

WELCOME

LATEST NEWS: I've just completed a training course on the Phantom HD high speed camera which allows shooting upto 1000 fps without the need to be tethered to a laptop - truly revolutionary for wildlife shooting!

You can watch some Phantom clips in the Video Clips section of the Photo Gallery or download them at www.stevephillipps.com/geese.mp4 and www.stevephillipps.com/garden.mp4

Having started working with wildlife as a stills photographer I moved into moving images and after staff cameraman roles for 8 years I went freelance in 2003.

I have been known to get the occasional human in front of my cameras but in general I specialise only in wildlife!

I've worked extensively in the UK (primarily Scottish Highlands and Wales) with subjects ranging from golden eagles and honey buzzards to wild cats, otters and pine martens. Overseas projects have included trips to several African countries, Alaska, Costa Rica, Siberia, India, Taiwan and many more.

At first it was all Super 16 film but more and more my work has tended on tape-based formats (though I'm not selling my film camera just yet!) I have worked extensively on Digibeta and HD cameras including Sony 750 and Panasonic Varicam.
